Cowfold appears in the West Sussex protestation returns of 23 February
19
1642, which listed virtually all adult males. No Blaker appears. If Richard son
of George Blaker inherited the legacy of house, barn and land from Edmund
seven years earlier, then he did not, apparently, go to live there.
