The Blaker Society
Horniblow, and Mrs. R. Blaker, were the most successful, Miss Chetwynd being
the fortunate winner of the ladies’ prize. We may as well remark that the score
of Mr. Ford was no less than 1251, being the highest number ever obtained at
any Archery meeting.
THE ARCHERY BALL
was exceedingly well attended. Dancing commenced about half-past ten, and
was continued until near upon one o’clock, when the company partook of a
sumptuous supper, supplied by Mr. Hooper, and served up in his usual
excellent style. At the conclusion of the repast, the company (near upon 300)
returned to the dancing room, when the Rev. O. Luard, the Hon. Secretary,
announced the names of the successful competitors whose scores had entitled
them to prizes.
